State Fireman Convention Underway Posted 6 September 2008 Firemen from departments all across the state have gathered in Maquoketa this weekend for the 130th annual Iowa Firemen's Association Convention.   Between 2,200 and 2,500 firefighters and family members are in the Jackson County community for meetings, recreation, relaxation and competitions.   This is the third time Maquoketa has hosted the statewide convention.  Next year, the firefighter's convention will be held in Dyersville.
