Two Witnesses in Supervisor Case Released
Posted 5 September 2008
Josue Muj-Ixen and Antonio
Vasquez-Arrendondo, according to federal court records, were freed from
jail this week after testifying against a former Agriprocessor plant
supervisor.
Both of the men, arrested in the May 12 immigration raid at the plant
in Postville, had been charged with misuse of a Social Security number
and sentenced to five years of probation. They now remain under house
arrest, wearing monitors, as they await a final decision regarding
their immigration status.
Muj-Ixen and Vasquez-Arrendondo were witnesses in the federal
government's case against Juan Carlos Guerrero-Espinoza. Last month,
Guerrero-Espinoza, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to hire
illegal immigrants and one count of aiding and abetting the hiring of
illegal immigrants.
