Free Day Monday at Effigy Mounds

No fees on Monday, Aug. 25, at Effigy Mounds!

To celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the establishment of the National Park Service on Aug. 25, 1916, no entrance fees will be charged at all of the nation's national parks.

Founders day programs will be held Monday, from 1 until 3 p.m. and will feature Family / Jr. Ranger oriented Learn (through doing) activities about American Indian pottery, tools, and weapons. Visitors will also be able to participate in a demonstration and an archeological field excavation. Meet at the Effigy Mounds visitor center to participate.
