Effigy Mounds Offers Junior Ranger Programs

Effigy Mounds National Monument is
proud to present the annual summer Junior Ranger Program. Events for
children interested in the National Park Junior Ranger program will be
scheduled each Saturday morning at 10 a.m. throughout the summer. Each
week the participants will be invited to learn something different
about the natural world, American Indian culture, and the national park
system.
This week's program, on Saturday, Aug. 23, is Archeology Day, with the
focus of activities on pottery and ancient tools.
August 30 - Nature Detective.
The children will have an opportunity to earn National Park badges,
patches, and certificates along with learning more about the world that
surrounds them.
Effigy Mounds National Monument preserves over 200 prehistoric American
Indian mounds, including some that are shaped as animals.
