Internships Available for Iowa Students
Posted 19 August 2008
The Iowa Student Internship
Program, which is administered by the Iowa Department of Economic
Development, is working with Iowa businesses to create internship
possibilities for Iowa students who attend classes at area community
colleges, private colleges, and regents institutions.
This effort will not only encourage Iowa graduates to remain in the
state, it presents a unique opportunity for students to learn and for
Iowa businesses to showcase their companies.
The program is available to Iowa-based companies that meet the
following criteria:
-Have fewer than 500 employees--with a significant
number of employees engaged in the industries of biosciences, advanced
manufacturing or information technology.
-Offer internships to students of Iowa community
colleges, private colleges, or regents institutions within two years of
graduation.
-Create a substantive working experience for the
intern.
Up to $3,100 is available for any single internship and a company is
able to apply for a maximum of three internships ($9,300).
Students hired as interns will be paid.
Internship opportunities are available for students at: www.smartcareermove.com
