HEALTHY HOME...

We live in a toxic environment. According to the EPA over 7.8 billion lbs of toxic pollutants were used in our environment in 1999 up from 2.2 billion in 1994. Over 4,000 different additives are allowed in our foods. Chronic aches and pains, fatigue, and allergy symptoms can all be indicators of your body being unable to deal with its toxic load. In an article in the New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer- Nature, Nurture or Both, 2000, the author concluded that 80-90% of cancer risk is due to environmental factors such as radiation, toxins, infection, alcohol, tobacco, diet and drugs. So what can you do about it?  Here are some simple steps to take to make your home a safer place to live.

  1. Leave your shoes at the door and use large doormats.
  2. Replace carpeting with hardwood, linoleum, or ceramic tile. Use all cotton or wool throw rugs.
  3. Keep windows and doors open as much as possible.
  4. Use a portable HEPA air cleaner/purifier esp. in the bedroom to remove 99% of airborne allergens. Keep green plants as they naturally filter air.
  5. Install a water filter- the best offer a combination of activated charcoal and reverse osmosis.
  6. Keep your furnace vents clean and use an electrostatic filter.
  7. Keep house dust to a minimum.
  8. Seal or replace particleboard walls, floors or cabinets because of formaldehyde. (6 billion lbs produced annually and 8% of the population is sensitive)
  9. Switch from standard household products to natural ones or make your own non-toxic cleaners. (Better Basics for Home by Annie Berthold-Bon)
  10. Store chemicals and paint products away from inhabited areas in airtight containers.
  11. Reduce indoor dampness in basements, bathrooms and around windows to reduce molds and mildew.
  12. Avoid air fresheners. Add scents with essential oils, fresh flowers or bowls of herbs. (Rosemary, sage, lavender, etc.)
  13. Move all electrical devices at least 4-6 ft. from your bed to avoid electromagnetic radiation.

You also can choose to eat healthier food. Buy organic when possible and limit your exposure to alcohol, tobacco and drugs. It may not be possible to do all of these things but sometimes small changes can make a big difference.

If you are experiencing lots of symptoms such as: body aches and pains, fuzzy thinking, increased allergy symptoms, difficulty losing or gaining weight, or other unexplained symptoms, it can be a sign that your body is attempting to handle too many environmental toxins. Our infrared sauna and energy-balancing ionizer can help your body to mobilize and eliminate toxins from your body. We also have specialized nutrient protocols to gently support the kidneys and the digestive tract to improve its detoxification abilities. If you have recently undergone chemotherapy or if you are a farmer exposed to lots of pesticides these treatments would be of value to you. Call or stop in today.
